Thompsons Station

A town located in Williamson County, around 25 miles south of Nashville, Thompsons Station is a community steeped in history. The town was named after Dr. Elijah Thompson, who donated land and a train station for it after the railroads made their way to the area in 1855. During the Civil War in 1863, Thompsons Station became the site of the Battle of Thompsons Station, where General Earl Van Dorn led his troops to victory against Colonel John Coburns army.
