Nashville Predators – When the Nashville Predators ska
ted onto the ice this past season at Bridgestone Arena for their last Stanley Cup Finals home game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, their fans almost smashed the Guinness World Record for the loudest crowd ever at an indoor sporting event. (They won Game Three resoundingly 5-1). That Music City is now a bona fide hockey town doesn’t surprise anyone in Nashville. Although it took some fans some time to learn what “icing” means. That it took the Predators’ fairytale run to the Stanley Cup Finals for the rest of the country to notice that Tennessee’s largest city is on a roll is what baffles them. Tennessee Titans – In 1997, the Oilers became the first NFL team to call Tennessee home when the franchise relocated to the Volunteer state. Two years later in 1999, the franchise retired the nickname Oilers and became known as the Titans. The change seemingly brought good luck as the Titans went on to win the AFC Championship that year and on to Super Bowl XXXIV. Heading into their 20th season, Nashville fans have much to look forward to with the Tennessee Titans. New uniforms, new coaching staff, new and veteran players; this team is rumored for great things this season. This excitement around this team runs parallel with the energy you will sense in Nashville.
